GPL means General Public License and you can find it on the GNU website.
What does the GPL license mean?
Note: this answer gives you a short general explanation in common language of the meaning of GPL license but keep in mind that only the license is legal.
GPL license allows you to:
- use MODELbuilder freely for non commercial use
- use MODELbuilder freely for commercial use if you do not use it as a derived software (ie a modified MODELbuilder) or a composite software (ie MODELbuilder included in another software)
GPL license forbids you to:
- use a composite or derived version of MODELbuilder for commercial uses without acknowledging MODELbuilder
What are the requirements to use MODELbuilder for internal use?
There are no requirements for the use of MODELbuilder for internal use and GPL license makes no distinction between public scientific and research area and industrial environment.
Does the GPL license prohibit commercial use?
No, the GPL license does not prohibit commercial use as long as you do not modify MODELbuilder software or include it in another software.
Is it possible to include the MODELbuilder software in CD's accompanying books?
Yes, it is. You can reproduce and distribute MODELbuilder software on any support as long as you do acknowledge the original MODELbuilder software.
